In part one, I laid out my lifelong history of being obsessed by fighting and combat sports of all kinds and threw in a free theory blaming it all on my place of birth and raising, Borger, effing, Texas.
In Dimebag's defense, he didn't die of self-induced actions or addiction. And if you haven't read "A Vulgar Display of Power" about the other victims of that shooting (and the shooter and policeman who killed him), it's a big rec from me.
I didn't even know about that book. It's been a while since I've read a rock bio. Back when the pandemic started I went back and listened through a bunch of my old high school music favorites and Vulgar Display has aged impressively well. It's got a timeless quality because so many bands have been influenced by Pantera in the years afterwards. This was in a cohort of Anthrax's Sound of White Noise, the Rage and Faith No More catalogs, some Sepultura. I should go back and do a thorough cataloging now that I'm reminiscing all over again. Cheers, Bill.
2. This LSD experience… was it a one-time experience that threw your entire brain chemistry for a whirlwind tour, or followed up repeated offences for that 12-18 months?
appreciate you sharing your story!
"And unlike Dimebag Darrell I’m not dead."

it's been on my list for a long while. And yea wasn't trying to imply that Dimebag did himself in or was even a little bit at fault.
It get a enthusiastic recommendation from me. Do yourself a favor and start it.

2 questions.
1. Is this going to be like 22 parts? NEED MOAR!
2. This LSD experience… was it a one-time experience that threw your entire brain chemistry for a whirlwind tour, or followed up repeated offences for that 12-18 months?
at least 1 more part, maybe 2 more parts. There was an odd series of temp jobs that didn't teach me any specific skills but informed my worldview
The LSD mistake was a one-time thing although I did repeat it with mushrooms and MDMA later on.
Nate this one was way too short.
