After a week off, our UFC picking contest resumes with UFC 287: Alex Pereira vs. Israel Adesanya 2.
At the last UFC event (UFC San Antonio: Vera vs. Sandhagen) the BE community went 7-3. The community members who did the best were Adam Law, Fishtown Simon and Ms. H. They went 8-2. This means Adam Law and Fishtown Simon are actually tied for first place in our standings. Remember, who ever finishes the year in first place gets a prize.
Community picks are a perk available to paid subscribers here on Substack. Paid subscribers have helped Bloody Elbow become one of Substack’s ‘Rocket Publications’, meaning we get more promotion and support from the platform. Thank you all for doing that, it means a lot to us personally and it also means a lot to us from a funding perspective.
This weekend’s UFC 287 comes with a thrilling main event. The first fight between Pereira and Adesanya (in the Octagon) was a fascinating duel between two men who know each other very well from the kickboxing ring. Pereira of course showed he was the better fighter that night as he eventually found a way through with his feared left hook. Will he do that again this time around or will Adesanya show he’s figured out how to avoid that and land something of his own?
You tell us in the UFC 287 survey below. Founding members, along with those leading our standings, will be given a separate survey to add context to their picks. That will be sent out tomorrow.
